Long Fist Style, also called “tai zu long fist”, originated back to Song Dynasty in China and got its name from the martial art style practiced by Emperor Taizu---Zhao Kuangyin at that time. Zhao Kuangyin is one of disciples in Shaolin---cradle of Chinese Kungfu, and won the emperor with his powerful fist. From then on, Long Fist was name after the martial art style spread by him, implying the fist is spread by the chancellor. (chancellor has the similar pronunciation with long in Chinese).

The main characteristics of the long-style Chuan are expansiveness, contractiveness and gracefulness in posture. Though it’s simple and common, Long Fist style is still well known for its high practicability in fighting. When practicing, you will be inundant like torrential seawater. Skillfully making use of your hands, eyesight, footwork, body movement and right way, you will meet the requirement of quick fist issuing like falling star, flexible waist like movement of snake, agile eyesight like circulated electricity.
